PARTICIPATE IN INTERNATIONAL USVoters PROJECT

 

Speak your mind on the U.S. presidential election! Send photos, text messages, videos and audio from your cell phone to the USVoters Ning on an election-related theme and share your posts with students from around the world! he date to remember is:

 

Tuesday, November 4- Date of the U.S. national elections

 

On Tuesday, November 4, send in voice recordings, text messages, photos or videos. You should send in material on this day only. Your posts will automatically be published on USVoters; http://usvoters.ning.com.

 

SEND IN VOICE, TEXT, PHOTO AND VIDEO FROM A CELL PHONE

If your cell phone is capable of sending text messages, photos and videos directly to an e-mail address, you can send your mobile posts through a service called Utterli. ItÕs free and really easy to use.

 

  1. Go to http://utterli.com.
  2. Create a new account. This is your own personal account. You will need to enter your personal cell phone number. The USVoters project does not have access to any of your account information.
  3. When you have set up your account, go to the CROSSPOSTINGS menu.
  4. At the CROSS POSINGS page, click on WordPress.
  5. Utterli will ask you for a WordPress username and password. Enter the following:
    1. Username: phillyvoters
    2. Password: us2008
    3. URL: http://usvoters.wordpress.com
  6. Choose to post directly to USVoters every time you use Utterz. This wonÕt publish all of your mobile phone postings on USVoters, it will only post those you send via utterli.com.
  7. To send a text message, a cameraphone photo or a cameraphone video to USVoters, just e-mail it from your cell phone to go@utterli.com
  8. To send a voice post to USVoters
    1. from the United States:

                                                         i.       Call 1-712-432-6666 and follow the audio instructions

    1. From the UK:

                                                         i.      Call  44-20-71001933 and follow the audio instructions

    1. Utterli has phone numbers available in many countries. A list is here: http://www.utterli.com/u/international_numbers.  Remember, you only need to dial a phone number if you are recording a voice message.

 

WHERE DOES MY CELL PHONE MESSAGE GET PUBLISHED?

 

You can see your cell phone posting at http://usvoters.ning.com. You can even join the Ning and exchange messages with other people participating in this project.

 

JOIN IN THE CONVERSATION ON USVOTERS.NING.COM

 

Communicate with other students who have posted cell phone message to USvoters! You may also upload images, videos and text directly to USVotersning.com from your computer.

 

  1. To join USvoters.ning.com:
    1. Go to http://usvoters.ning.com
    2. Click on the SIGN UP link on the right-hand side.
    3. Signing up is FREE and easy and gives you a Ning account that you can then use to join USVoters.ning.com as well as other Nings.

                                                         i.      Ning will ask you for some basic information, such as an e-mail address and a password for your account.

                                                       ii.      It will then ask you for some profile information. Please use your first name (or a nickname) and indicate your location.

                                                     iii.      Click JOIN to join usvoters.ning.com

 

  1. To upload photo, videos or text directly to the Ning:
    1. Log on to USVoters.ning.com and select Add a Blog Post.
    2. You may add a title to your blog post and enter text.
    3. To add a photo, simply click on the photo icon and enter the URL for the image you wish to embed in the blog post.
    4. You may upload a video directly from your computer or you may provide a URL to a video published elsewhere on the Web, such as YouTube.
